If you check the "Keep Upload Private" box, your upload will not show up on the Recent Uploads page. If it is left unchecked, it will show up with the file name, a link to the file, and the time it was uploaded.

This won't affect your upload in any way. It's just an option for if you'd like site visitors to see your file too.
